Choose by location, not only by size
A vinyl banner can span a storefront, fence, stage, booth, or event entrance when the installation supports it. A yard sign is suited to short roadside messages, directions, campaign identification, property information, or local service promotion. Posters work well on walls, windows, display boards, and indoor event surfaces. Door hangers place a compact message directly at a residence or business without requiring a mailing list.
Each format has different practical limits. A long paragraph that works on a handout will not work on a sign viewed from a moving vehicle. A poster intended for indoor display may not have the material or finishing needed for extended outdoor exposure. Before ordering, confirm where the piece will be installed, how far away the viewer will be, how long it must remain in place, and what mounting method is allowed.

Design for fast recognition
Use one main message, strong contrast, and a clear action. The business name, offer, date, phone number, web address, or direction should be readable at the real viewing distance. Keep essential content away from trim, hems, grommets, stake areas, or hardware zones. Use images with enough resolution for the final size and avoid enlarging a small web graphic until it looks soft or pixelated.
Installation hardware and finishing vary by product and option. Check whether stakes, grommets, hems, pole pockets, adhesive, frames, or mounting supplies are included before planning the installation.
